Interior Design Details Turn Home into Showpiece

Every detail of this 1960's home was perfectly planned. From the barn door and etched glass of the bedroom and ensuite to the beautiful granite counter tops and stunning recessed lighting in the kitchen / dining space.

Each room is a home owner's dream, but the master ensuite is pure heaven! Features include, double sinks, wall hung bidet, enormous walk-in shower with iPod doc, internal speakers and aromatherapy. This spa like retreat is topped off with a wall mount fireplace for ambiance and warmth.

The social center in the kitchen / dining area is an 8' x 3', bar height centerpiece dining room table with imported Italian fusion granite table top. The hand forged light fixture is recessed in the ceiling to allow for its grand size. Toffee-stained wide plank and distressed bamboo floors transition to new floor tiles in the kitchen, installed over a heat map to keep even the coldest toes warm.

Wide Open Spaces

The beauty of this home renovation was the transformation of a traditional compartmentalized home to a bright, friendly open concept space. The earth tone colour pallet with high gloss, bright white and stainless steel accents makes unique features pop in this family friendly home. The galley kitchen boasts modern conveniences like the microwave draw, natural gas range, large double door stainless steel refrigerator and built in wall ovens. The efficient work triangle from fridge to stove to sink is key to the functionality of the kitchen, making meal preparation and clean-up efficient and intuitive.

A new partition wall separating the breakfast nook from the kitchen is cleverly constructed with custom cabinets to provide two distinct spaces without closing off the two rooms and also adding much needed storage.

Opening up the space greatly enhanced the flow of natural light but the removal of a large primary window in the old kitchen required the addition of new over cabinet windows. Thanks to the addition / relocation of windows the home's interior enjoys plenty of natural light by day, and by night the space is also beautifully illuminated by new ceiling pot lights, as well as under-cabinet lighting and wonderful feature light fixture in the breakfast nook.
